The objective of ToT is to provide civil society organizations with the necessary skills to enhance the knowledge of service providers from the Community, and in specific areas. The need for qualified trainers who have the knowledge to design training programs is very important; and to this end, the Training and Consultancy Services Unit (TCS) conducts the Generic Training of Trainers Course to establish a core team of trainers who have relevant skills in specific training areas, such as planning and management, among others.
The generic ToT course is a five-day participatory course, whose major goals are to provide participants with the opportunity to acquire and practice skills in facilitating training programs, and to enhance their abilities to design training session plans. Participants learn about the experiential learning cycle, how to design a training program, and how to conduct a training needs assessment, in addition to the supervision of service providers and other adult learning techniques. Although participants are not expected to be experts in all forms of training, they will be able to make important and critical input in the design of training materials and to conduct training in their specific technical fields.
