As part of its consultancy services, JRF worked with Al Salihiya Charitable Society in KSA, in partnership with Al Ahli Bank, to empower women beneficiaries by providing them with training on various weaving techniques and best practices aimed at conceiving and developing marketable products to be sold in local markets across KSA. The training also included lessons on avoiding common industry mistakes, as well as handmade product development concepts and workflows.
Beneficiaries would later transfer their knowledge to other women in their communities, who are seeking additional income for their households. The project has largely contributed to economically and socially empowering Saudi women in target areas, and has helped improve livelihoods across several poverty pockets in KSA.
