Established in 2006, Al Karma Kitchen is an extension of Al Karma Center operation in Jabal Al Natheef east of Amman. The kitchen offers a wide variety of freshly cooked foods, prepared by the women of Al Karma Center, including traditional Arabic sweets, spicy macaroons and frozen foods. The kitchen hires highly skilled Jordanian female chefs and provides unique economic opportunities to the community women of Al Natheef area. Building on the kitchen’s success, JRF is planning to offer catering services for events and special occasions, which in turn will increase employment opportunities for women in Jabal Al Natheef. JRF has recently replicated the kitchen’s model in Jabal Al Nasr east of Amman, operating under the Queen Rania Family and Child Center (QRFCC).
